About Us:
Visible Shops is an Internet Marketing Company located in midtown Manhattan, right next to Grand Central. Our firm serves as the Internet marketing department for small businesses (our client base.) We’ve been around for six years and love being great at what we do We’re a small team with a big impact and we’re looking for a dynamic new member: you!

About You:
As Webmaster, your role will be to work with the rest of the team (Copywriter, Marketing Manager) to build sites (from designs given to you, or, if you are a good designer, designs you create), manage content, create HTML emails, implement analytics, edit images, create ads, and generally take charge of technical things for clients. You should be independent, interested in marketing, and want to be a strong part of our growing team. You should be able to learn on the job, and be inquisitive about new technologies. You should love standards and hate tables. Because our clients use various pieces of software and tools to manage their sites and businesses, we have to learn them too, and get the most out of them. (Think Channel Advisor, Google Analytics, WordPress, Joomla, ez Publish, Hubspot, Clickdensity, Yahoo Stores, Volusion, etc.) We have to be nimble, we have to be quick, and sometimes it feels like we’re jumping over candlesticks.
Tasks range from ten minutes to ten days, and you should be the kind of person that wants such diversity. As part of the team you will help develop and manage real productive online marketing strategies for small businesses that want to grow. You will learn to look at design and programming choices from a marketing perspective.

Base Skills:

• Should be comfortable writing clean, standards compliant xhtml/css by hand
• Strong css layout knowledge
• Adheres to accessibility and SEO coding best practices
• Awareness of and ability to work around common browser compatibility issues while keeping browser specific hacks to a minimum
• Experience working with and customizing CMS’s. Ezpublish experience a major plus
• Basic Javascript, including common libraries like scriptaculous, jQuery etc.
• Working knowledge of Adobe creative suite; ability to handle tasks ranging from banner ad creation to full layout designs
• Ability to create custom WordPress themes
• Ecommerce experience
• Should be comfortable working on a Mac
• Should want to experiment and teach yourself new, cool tricks, techniques, and applications
