
Is your day a little greener this morning? Have you noticed the spring flowers sprouting out of the ground or blossoms flourishing on tree branches? No? Have you been bombarded by media and marketing images celebrating Earth Day? Probably.
But jokes aside, we at Visible Shops would like to throw another log onto the heap and celebrate especially today as a time of appreciating and preserving the world we live in. But that’s not all! We’ve also been celebrating Earth Month. Check out some of our past blog posts on green marketing and business practices, and stay tuned for a couple more until the end of April.
And on a last note we’ll end with a moment of levity. Take a look at this comedian’s rant at some media messages that promote green lifestyles. From a marketing standpoint, what are the problems here? The greatest sin seems to be gross inconsistency (the part where Oprah gives out eco-friendly light bulbs… after giving another audience a whole lot of cars). Also, an overdose of celebrities coming out of the woodwork to perform perfunctory speeches on living eco-consciously is not always endearing to the public. The best approach to green marketing seems to require a bit of coherence and just a dash of humility.
